TAIWAN 2012 ~ Day 7 ~ (THE LAST DAY)
Monday, December 17, 2012 @ 10:05 PM `°•.¸¸.•°` leave a comment ( 0 )

27th of December 2012 - Tuesday

So here we are at the very last day of the trip...before I begin, I'd like to thank my parents for this amazing vacation; it's been a real adventure, all those babysitting hysteria, endless laughter, mild nauseas, heavy doses of bubble-tea...I swear I'll miss them. Even though Taiwan isn't the dream country I've always wanted to visit, but it's still managed to capture my heart. :)

Right, back to the topic: all of us woke up at 4.30 in the morning. Yes, 4.30. No kidding man! We had to get to the airport by 6 o'clock sharp, because the time of our plane's departure was 8.30. I could barely keep my eyes open as I packed my stuff. But once I got on the bus, it was impossible for me to sleep. I tried closing my eyes, but sleep didn't take over, hunger did. By the time, our bus arrived at the airport, I couldn't think of anything but my thundering belly. And so, we were given a couple of ham sandwiches for breakfast. After days of having buffet-style breakfasts in 5-star hotels, a piece of ham jammed between two slices of plain bread was not what I had on mind. But I supposed it was a bad idea for me to fret over such a little matter when the rest, with eyes half-shut, just ate in silence.

Hours passed as if they were minutes, and in no time, we had to say our goodbyes. sniffs* :') But of course, you can't leave without a group photo, right? So that's all of us - my family and I; faces of complete strangers, unfamiliar yet genuine smiles, people I hardly took the effort to know even after being on the same bus for the past few days. Guilt tugged at the edges of my heart as I bade them farewell. I do hope someday we'd meet again, and when that day comes, I swear I'd stop being such an anti-social freak. :3

GOODBYE TAIWAN!! :)

TAIWAN 2012 ~ Day 6 ~

26th of December - Monday
After being stuck on the bus for almost 4 hours, we finally arrived at Taipei. Just in time for lunch! :D We had this incredible meal at a Japanese restaurant called Ninja. ^^ The waiters and waitresses there were all really friendly, they made you feel as if you've known them forever. I was so busy piling up food on my plate that I didn't notice a guy had materialized beside me. He introduced himself as our personal entertainer, and so...he performed a magic trick of making a coin vanish into thin air. Typical. But I like him, so does my mom. He's cute, okay!!? :3

Then came a waitress with a bucket of plastic ninja darts in her hands. She said it was something like a lucky draw, so my sister volunteered. And guess what she drew!? Test tubes. Well, at first we all thought it was some sort of a practical joke, because there was this icy, white vapor billowing from the test tubes as if it were a lab experiment gone wrong and were about to blow or something. But then, the waitress told us it was actually just sparkling juice with a hint of dry ice. So we were all like WTH??!*.... =w=

The world's third tallest building - Taipei 101!!

A quick visit to Taipei's Martyr's Shrine.

Time sure flies when you're on a tight schedule, well at least, that's what they say. So before our tummies even started rumbling, we were already having our dinner at Taipei's one and only 'revolving' restaurant. :3 The appetizer was sheer ambrosia - it literally melted in my mouth. And it looked gorgeous, too. It's a sad thing I was too starving back then that I devoured the whole thing before even remembering to take a photo of it. =_= The pumpkin soup was alright, and then came the main course. It was quite disappointing, though. The flavors weren't really exquisite; just a piece of chicken soaked up in mushroom sauce. blek* In case you're wondering...yes, I'm extremely picky when it comes to food. I've always had this naked adoration for food, so any sort of humiliation, such as this, is absolutely unforgivable. I was about to spit out a string of nasty remarks when mom gave me the LOOK = keep your mouth shut and eat your food young lady. So yeah...I was forced to swallow the terrible, TERRIBLE chicken - it took me more than 3 minutes to get that awful lump down my throat - and was then forced to smile for the camera. sigh* Oh well...1, 2, 3, smile!

That's a wrap for Day 6!! ^^
