Diary Of A Wimpy Teen ~ Chapter Nineteen ~
Hello guys! :) I know Christmas was yesterday, but the joy of Christmas is still in the air. In Malaysia, Christmas might only be a one-day-celebration, but in USA or anywhere that snows, Christmas has only just begun. Gosh, I wish Malaysia had snow, lots and lots of snow. Then we could make snowmen, ride sleighs, collect snowflakes, roll in the snow, have scarves wrapped warmly around our necks to our noses, feel the cold biting on our skin, watch a single drop of snow melt on our fingertips, knock on strangers' doors and sing them Christmas carols, huddle round the fireplace and sip hot chocolate from our mugs.
* * * * * * * * *
Something has waken me from the snow reverie...something trickling down my neck, like a string of beads - perspiration. Sweat, or whatever you like to call it. One minute I'm stuck in a winter wonderland, the next thing I know I'm sweating like a turkey stuck in the oven - the irony! = =
Yesterday, about ten in the morning, my family and I went to church for the BIG Christmas celebration, which in the end, turned out to be not that BIG. I promised Mary that I would wear a dress, and so I did. There were quite many attempts to take the perfect shot of both of us in dresses, but in the end we gave up. None of them looked good, or should I say we looked good in none of them. sigh* =_= But we did manage to look OK in one, neither particularly pretty nor supremely hideous. XP
Well yes, Santa has given me a swollen eye for Christmas, thanks a lot. =x= At least there were other things to be happy about on Christmas, like...PRESENTS!? Mary's presents for me: a floral skirt from Brands Outlet, a novel titled 'Pegasus', and a Hokkaido cake. :3 She baked it herself, it was unlike the ones I had tried, but still it was worth a thousand kisses. ♥ XOXO ♥
After church, dad took us to grandma's place to have lunch with her. Grandma prepared all the food herself, said she wanted to make it an extra special Christmas lunch. And it was extra special indeed. Popiah the appetizer, Mee Suah in herbal chicken soup and fish porridge our main course, and as for dessert, Tong Yuen with peanut fillings. =w= I know it's not the average Christmas meal we've always watched on TV since we were kids, where a family gathers around a long table and says grace before settling on the giant stuffed turkey and Yorkshire pudding. No turkey for us. :( At first, I was quite disappointed, 'cause grandma said it was gonna be EXTRA SPECIAL... But as it turned out, grandma's cooking was not such a let-down after all. The Popiah was so delicious I had to have a third helping, and the Tong Yuen literally melted on the tip of my tongue. > < ♥ Grannie, you're an amazing cook! :D
We went out again in the evening because my parents had booked the tickets for our church's Christmas Musical Night. Almost everyone from my youth fellowship was there, all beautifully dressed for the night. The guys were all tuxedos and ties, most of the girls were adorned in white lace. They were all dolled up for the Christmas musical tonight. Oh, I forgot to mention that, didn't I? Well, it must've slipped my mind since I wasn't part of the musical. A lot of people were, even Mary. I don't know why I wasn't, it actually feels kind of bad to think that you're the only one left out of such a huge event. Oh well, maybe I wasn't needed in any way, as always. :'(
Dinner practically bordered on OK; just the typical Malaysian Mamak food. It's a good thing most people came for the musical, not for the food. I barely ate a thing, that's for sure. I just stuffed a few spoonfuls of food into my mouth before running off to meet Mary at the grand ballroom. She got this heavy make-up on her face - mascara, eyeliner, pink lip-gloss, and lots of powder. I could tell, by just one look, it was done by a professional make-up artist. And someone did her hair, too. It was curled up in pretty little waves, and they were in some sort of burgundy brown. Gosh, I hope someone would do my make-up, too. Not that I need it. I just wanna be pretty for once in my life, is it too much to ask!? SIGH* =0= Don't worry, I'll get over it...somehow.

Back to the story: After an hour of bitter waiting, the musical finally began. The show kicked start with an 'Oppa Gangnam Style' parody, where 'The Mob' made their first appearance. Mary was part of 'The Mob', but I could hardly see her; I bet anyone could. Poor Mary...sigh* After 'The Mob' left the stage, the main characters of the musical finally came out. To summarize everything, the musical mainly revolves around a 2055's family that consists of a grandmother, a mother, a daughter, a son and a robot named Max. LOL* The family lives in the midst of the technologically advanced; in a world where husbands are purchased and love is sold for an exorbitant price, where everything's systematically done and planned for you. Because life has become too perfect for them, they've lost sight of what's really important - love.
This musical has successfully conveyed a message so powerful that I believe more than a hundred hearts were touched last night. A message, reminding us that there's nothing more important than love, that love first came down from the heavens 2000 years ago in the form of a baby boy named Jesus.
In a nutshell, the musical was undeniably spectacular; with its touching moments, crazy antics, and breathtaking vocals. It was like watching a Christmas musical on Broadway, no kidding. I was so tempted to record the entire performance, but cameras were strictly forbidden in the ballroom. What a shame, huh!? :/ I really do hope there'll be another musical next year, a bigger and bolder one, perhaps. A year minus a day, counting from now. :P

Merry Christmas everyone! Yes, it's Christmas already - the most celebrated season of the year is finally knocking on our doors. A lot of you may be busy hanging fancy ornaments onto your Christmas tree, or busy receiving and unwrapping presents, or busy partying with your friends. We're always busy, so busy that we frequently forget the true meaning of Christmas. It's true when they say Christmas is about receiving gifts, but the best one comes from God. It's not just any gift, but the gift of selfless love. God loved us so much that he sent his one and only son, Jesus Christ to our world, to die for our sins, to save us from eternal death. It's the best gift ever, ain't it!? And yes, it's given out for free. Anyone could receive a gift of love; anyone who opens the door when Jesus knocks on it, anyone who is willing to make room for Jesus, anyone who believes. :)

Hey guys, I wasn't actually planning on blogging today, but since I ain't got anything better to do, so here I am. :3 Anyway, I remembered telling you guys I was going to the 'Big Bad Wolf Sale' on Thursday, right!? Well, before going, I actually took the time to make a list of books I wanted to buy. LOL* Here goes the list:
1. Life Of Pi by Yann Martel
2. The Perks Of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
3. One Day by David Nicholls
4. The Help by Kathryn Stockett
5. Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell
6. The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien
7. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
8. Lone Wolf by Jodi Picoult 9. A Thousand Names by Cecelia Ahern 10. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green 11. State Of Wonder by Ann Patchett 12. Room by Emma Donoghue
That's about it, I guess. To most people, this may seem like some sort of nut job; but to bibliophiles, this is nothing more than having toasts for breakfast. So, a book lover like me going to the BIGGEST book sale in Malaysia - it's probably one of the best things in my miserably insignificant existence. ;) Dad took me there after lunch, and then we went separate ways: he headed off to the 'lifestyle' and 'arts' section, whilst I just simply walked past every 'young adult' section where the novels were piled up so high I was afraid one mountain of them would topple over my head and collapse on me. Thank God that didn't happen.
I guess I was so occupied with 'the search' that I didn't realize someone was calling me from behind, and guess whose eyes met mine - my friend, Xi Wen's, and her brother's. LOL* Well, we actually planned to meet there, so it didn't surprise me much. I was just impressed by their determination in finding me among the huge throngs of crowd. So the three of us set off on a hunt for BOOKS. After an hour or two of aimless walking, Xi Wen was becoming quite desperate 'cause she couldn't seem to find her precious 'Shopaholic' novels, her brother refused to give up on his search for 'The Lord Of The Rings' trilogy, and then there was me - exhausted, starving and disappointed. I couldn't find any of the books I wanted!! sobs* :'(
Long story short - I managed to get myself six books, yes, merely six; none of them are the books on my list, except for one, which is 'The Help'. Finally a little satisfaction! ^w^ I spent two whole hours rummaging through mountains of books, hoping to find one book, just one from my list...and my effort did pay off after all.
1. The Help by Kathryn Stockett
2. Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro
3. When God Was A Rabbit by Sarah Winman
4. Summers Of The Sisterhood: Girls in Pants by Ann Brashares
5 The Gift by Cecelia Ahern
6. The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas
I'm currently reading 'The Help', you know, to get my life going a little - I haven't been the least bit of productive for the past two months. =w= I'm being really honest here guys. What I mostly do everyday: Wake up. Eat. Watch TV. Reblog pictures on Tumblr. Heart pictures on We Heart It. Eat. Take a nap. Wake up. Bathe. Watch TV. Reblog pictures on Tumblr. Heart pictures on We Heart It. Eat. Watch TV. Sleep. I do study a bit of Form 5 Physics which, as a matter of fact, seems like nut job to me. But I only do it on Thursday, a few hours before going to tuition, since our most respected and beloved Physics tuition teacher has intentionally made 'arrangements' for those who fail to answer his questions. It's actually more like a terrorist's time bomb than a pop-quiz, 'cause you never know when it's gonna be you, and you never know when your time's up; it goes off, and you die. =x= That's how it works. So after that horrible experience, I've learnt to play smart and avoid chairs as much as possible, if you know what I mean. ;)
Well, Christmas is just a few days away, which means I'll be thrust back into the hell-bound vessel I escaped from two months ago known as SCHOOL. sigh* Anyway, with Christmas drawing so near, there's no way I wouldn't be getting into the Christmas spirit. ^w^ So on Friday, I went to the 3R Christmas Party organized by my church's youth fellowship. I brought my phone along, but just couldn't seem to muster the enthusiasm to take any photos. Lazy me! :P All in all, the party was pretty awesome, the games were really fun, but the food...ummmm, the food was OK. No further comments on the food. :X
I was the usher that day, so I was technically planting my feet in a particular spot by the door, frequently ignored by the people who were coming in. I was supposed to give them all a warm, friendly smile and welcome them in, but they just walked past me as if I were invisible. =_= Or maybe I am. However, to prove myself NOT an anti-social freak, I had to make some new friends instead of just standing there, clinging to my good buddy, Mary and blocking everyone else out. And so, I did get to know some of the newcomers, especially those quieter ones. Quiet people have always been my favorite target, 'cause they usually look less hostile. ^^ Mary was also the quiet one when I first met her, and who knew we would be such good friends now. :) Oh, talking about Mary, I made her this before heading off to the party.
It's supposed to be her birthday present, but her birthday was last week...so yeah, a belated birthday present for an extraordinary friend. I hope you're reading this now, Mary. LOL* If you are, text me NOW!! XD Okay, back to the topic....wait, what's the topic again!? Oh right, Christmas. Well, Christmas just wouldn't do without Christmas presents, right?! ^0^v
Christmas presents from daddy dearest.♥
Famous Amos' Christmas Special from Santa Gal - Lisa! ♥
I guess this post is long enough to end here, and to bring
the sensation of sleepiness to your eyes. XP So, that’s all for today guys! Buh-bye,
and have yourself a merry Christmas! :D

Merry Christmas!!!
"Joy to the world, the Lord is come....."
Today is not just any day, it's Christmas - Jesus' birthday! And so....
I'd like to blog about this wonderful season of the year, and of course, to tell all of you the true meaning of celebrating Christmas. No, it has nothing to do with Santa Claus, or Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, or Frosty the snowman; and no, it is not about receiving presents wrapped in taffeta, or kissing under the mistletoe, or shopping for new clothes. Christmas is something holy, not superficial. It is the day Christ the Lord was born; a baby sent from God to ransom us from our sins, the Promised one whom we all yearn and hope for. Yesterday, before I went for caroling with my dad, I had been struggling to seek for the perfect picture with a few jolly snowmen warbling merry notes, a Christmas tree adorned in red and the words 'Merry Christmas' emblazoned across it, for the mere purpose of adding a touch of Christmas to my blog. But then, I thought it was pretty absurd of me paying attention to what seems to be absolutely meaningless; after all, Christmas can always do without a Christmas tree, but it can never do without the baby boy who gave His life for us - Jesus! :) Glory to the newborn king!
